Isaac's wife. Rebekah was the perfect helper for her husband, Isaac. Chosen even. She gave him twin sons, the youngest being her favorite. She knew his line of descendants would carry out God's plan, but much like her mother-in-law, she felt the need to make it happen in her own way. She helped the younger son, Jacob, concoct a plan to take his older brother's birthright from him. A problem with this, is again, this was not God's plan. Not only was she not trusting in God, but she was not learning from the mistakes of those who came before her.
 
There's one thing to want to have your own way. It's another when you have examples that come before you on what not to do, and you decide you'll do it anyways. In order to grow in life and in faith, we must not only learn from our own mistakes but from the mistakes of others as well.
