Moses first came to face God through the burning bush on Mount Sinai where he was given the direction to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. While shepherding them into the Promised Land, he was lead back the base of Mount Sinai to settle temporarily. Moses would often go to the top of the mountain to commune with God and convey His messages back to the Israelites. 
 
"The covenant sealed and the commandments revealed." The well-known and highly emphasized Ten Commandments were given to Moses at the top of Mount Sinai. In a time of confusion, the Israelites needed some guidance and direction. God gave ten simple principles to live by that are still revered to this day. Here, Moses stood in as the mediator between the Israelites and God. For the Christian today, we can approach God with confidence with no mediator because of Jesus Christ.
 
Moses' voyages up and down the mountain can be found in Exodus 19:3-25 and the Ten Commandments can be found in Exodus 20:1-17. Moses' obedience and quiet time with God produced a long-lasting set of moral principles. Imagine what we are capable of with our obedience and prayer time today.
