The Light Through the Year
A 12-Month Scripture Candle Calendar
Each month includes:
Theme • Scripture • Suggested Candles • Spiritual Focus

April - Resurrection Power
"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."
Romans 8:11 NLT

Suggested Candle: Calvary (Rosewood & Musk)

Devotion: The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives within you. That truth transforms despair into hope and weakness into strength. God brings life where there once was loss and restores what feels beyond repair. No situation is beyond God’s ability to redeem.

As this candle flickers, reflect on areas of your life that need resurrection—hope renewed, faith restored, or joy revived. God is still in the business of making all things new.

Prayer: Lord, breathe new life into every place that feels broken or weary.
Reflection: What does resurrection look like in my life today?

March - Peace in the Process
"6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Devotion: Peace is not found in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of God. When anxiety rises, Scripture invites us to bring everything—every worry, fear, and concern—before the Lord in prayer. God’s peace guards our hearts when we surrender control.

Surrender your anxiety to God; name your worries honestly before God. Exchange anxiety for trust and rest in the peace only He can provide.

Prayer: God, I place every concern into Your hands and receive Your peace. Help me to surrender my anxiety to you so you can do amazing works in and through me.
Reflection:
-
What worry do I need to release today?
-
How can prayer become my first response instead of my last?

Suggested Candles:
-
Peace (Lavender)
-
The River Jordan (Spa Day)
-
Mount Sinai (Lavender Chamomile)
February - Love Abides
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Devotion: Love is not fragile or fleeting—it endures. God’s love remains steady through every season, relationship, and disappointment. When human love falls short, God’s love fills the gap with grace, patience, and restoration.

As this candle burns, allow God’s love to meet you where you are. Receive it fully, then ask Him to teach you how to extend that same love to others—freely and without condition.

Prayer: Father, fill me with Your love so I may reflect it to others.
Reflection: Where do I need to receive God’s love more deeply? Who is God calling me to love with greater grace?

Suggested Candle: 1 Corinthians 13 (Lotus Blossom)

January - New Beginnings
"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland."
Isaiah 43:19 NLT

Devotion: God is always at work—even when we cannot see it. As a new year begins, the Lord invites you not to cling to former seasons but to open your heart to what He is doing now. New beginnings often require surrender. Release the disappointments, regrets, and unfinished chapters of yesterday, trusting that God wastes nothing.
As you light this candle, invite the Holy Spirit to reveal what needs to be laid down and what new thing God is birthing within you. The path forward may not be fully clear, but God promises to make a way.

Prayer: Lord, help me release the past and step into Your new work with faith and obedience.
Reflection: What is God calling me to release this year?

Suggested Candle: The Holy Spirit (Eucalyptus | Spearmint)
